Get Involved!

As integral teaching partners, parents can participate in multiple opportunities to engage in the academic and social success of their child(ren).

Parents can participate in the School Site Council, the English Learners Advisory Committee, and the Parent Leadership Group. They can become classroom, library, special event and/or school store volunteers.

Parents are invited to biweekly parent “Cafecitos” (which include parent education presentations with the Principal), parent-teacher conferences, school events, assemblies and meetings. They can also visit classes and chaperone field trips.

The school hosts parent-teacher conferences two times per year and the following parent involvement/community building activities:
  • Back-to-School Night
  • A Posada Navidena
  • Open House & Literacy Night
  • Math Night
  • Evening Parent ESL Classes
  • "Our Cultural Heritage Festival"
  • Parent's Day Breakfast
Parents are encouraged to assist their children with at-home assignments and projects, and to read to them in either one or both languages. They can also provide exposure to books, music and movies in both languages, attend cultural festivals, provide opportunities for authentic language exchanges and much more.

Parents are invited and welcome to be involved in all facets of school planning and program implementation in order to enhance the academic and social success of all students. If you're interested in becoming involved, please contact the school directly at (650) 329-2888.
